UK thunderstorm asthma risk under climate change

Thunderstorm asthma is an emerging public health issue in the UK, characterised by sudden surges in asthma attacks during or shortly after thunderstorms.

The project explores how environmental and meteorological factors, individual susceptibility, and climate change could influence the occurrence and severity of TA.The research applies secondary data analysis of historical thunderstorm events, health, environmental, and meteorological data, alongside high-resolution UKCP18 climate projections.

This research aims to inform public health planning and preparedness for potential Thunderstorm and asthma events in the UK.

Her project investigates thunderstorm asthma in the UK under climate change scenarios.
