Join Us: Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Environmental Epidemiology at the Net Positive Centre
- Posted on: 10 December 2025
The Centre for Net Positive Health and Climate Solutions is growing — and we’re excited to open applications for a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Environmental Epidemiology.
If you’re passionate about climate, health and social equity — and you want your research to make a real-world difference — we’d love to hear from you.
As a Postdoctoral Research Fellow, you’ll join a vibrant community of researchers embedded across the University of Exeter and our partner organisations. You’ll be based at the European Centre for Environment and Human Health on the Penryn Campus in beautiful Cornwall — with hybrid working options available.
You will contribute to research across several interconnected projects, supporting three of the Centre’s core objectives:
-
Identifying priorities at the climate–health nexus, helping conceptualise emerging issues and evidence gaps.
-
Assessing the health and environmental impacts of adaptation and mitigation strategies within key UK systems — including urban design, food systems and natural infrastructure.
-
Evaluating what works, generating insights into the delivery of real-world, co-beneficial solutions.
This is a collaborative, interdisciplinary role where you’ll work closely with fellow research fellows and teams across academia, government, industry and the third sector.
Who We’re Looking For
You will bring:
-
A PhD (or equivalent experience) in public health, environmental science, environmental epidemiology or a related field.
-
Strong methodological expertise in environmental epidemiology, including spatial analytical methods.
-
An ability to work collaboratively within diverse, cross-sector research teams.
-
A passion for research that supports healthier people and a healthier planet.
This is a full-time role (with part-time and job-share options available) on a fixed-term contract from 1 March 2026 to 28 February 2029.
Please refer to the full Job Description and Person Specification for detailed criteria.
