Dr Sarah Whitmee is the Climate and Health Assessment Team Lead at UKHSA since July 2025. Prior to this she was an Assistant Professor at the London School for Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (LSHTM) in the Centre on Climate Change and Planetary Health. She is the lead author of the Lancet Pathfinder Commission Report and was co-PI on the Pathfinder Initiative looking at the health co-benefits of interventions to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and promote a just transition to a healthy, net zero future. She has a background in ecology and conservation biology and since 2014 has worked at the intersection of environmental change and human health, most notably on the Rockefeller-Lancet Commission on Planetary Health, published in 2015.
