Isabelle Cardinal is the Principal Specialist for Social Science at Natural England. She works alongside a team of social scientists in the Chief Scientist Directorate using the social sciences to strengthen nature recovery and social outcomes. She has a strong interest in accountability and engagement for better delivery. Prior to Natural England, Isabelle spent 25 years working on social development internationally, including 5 years as Technical Director for a UK based consultancy called Social Development Direct, senior positions with the UK Department for International Development and community development with NGOs in East Africa.
